Jessica Simpson is the latest celebrity to be shortlisted for the vacancy on American Idol's judging panel and has reportedly had "several meetings" with TV bosses already.
Simpson's arrival on the hit show will follow the departure of the music mogul at the end of the latest series. According to gossip website TMZ, there is said to be "mutual interest" in the 29-year-old star joining the panel.
A source added to Life and Style magazine: "They like her - she's a good fit - and she likes it. Now it's just a question of how to fit her in." Watch her:
